“TOMORROW NEEDS ENGINEERING" AT DONE LAB

We had the pleasure of welcoming high school students to DONE Lab as part of the “Tomorrow Needs Engineering” activity during Verão no Campus, an initiative by the University of Minho (Escola de Engenharia).

At our lab, students saw firsthand how research integrated multiple engineering fields such as polymers, materials, and mechanical engineering, in a collaborative environment where engineers and product designers worked side by side to develop innovative solutions.

From exploring additive manufacturing research to learning about the injection moulding process, these young minds engaged with cutting-edge technologies and experienced the power of research and innovation in shaping tomorrow’s industry. A highlight of the visit was participating in the injection moulding of a spinning top — a fun, hands-on activity combining different technologies.

We hoped this experience inspired them to imagine the possibilities of their future in science, technology, and engineering.
