ADD.ADDITIVE - Add Additive Manufacturing to Portuguese Industry

The project ADD.ADDITIVE project emerged with the purpose of generating knowledge to revolutionize the state-of-art of additive manufacturing. Expected achievements include breakthrough approaches in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), development of new and improved materials, optimization of productive processes and methodologies, and creation of new approaches and trends, generating this way, a permanent and reverberating impact in the national economy.

DONE Lab integrates the project as supporter in the development of suitable solutions in terms of polymeric material development and characterization for additive manufacturing, and for the development of a hybrid processing method. The hybrid processing method aims the combination of additive manufacturing technological potentialities with the precision of conventional injection moulding to generate a multi-material and multi-functional product, with enhanced and customized features and performance.

This project was developed in the framework of the Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização (POCI), through a coordinated strategy between Industrial partners, Research Centres and University or Polytechnic Departments.
